Research Interests
Our group is focusing on bone cell biology to better understand bone physiopathology. We have put special emphasis on bone resorbing osteoclasts, using various models of osteoclast differentiation from primary human or murine osteoclasts. In order to better understand the ability to resorb the bone calcified extracellular matrix (ECM), we analyze the pattern of organization of actin cytoskeleton in osteoclasts, dynamically evolving from podosome meshwork, on ununmineralized ECM, to sealing zone on mineralized ECM. In addition, we have identified a new way to make osteoclasts from dendritic cells and we are currently investigating whether these DC-derived osteoclasts are more «aggressive» than classical monocyte-derived osteoclasts. Finally, we are deciphering bone remodeling both in vitro and in vivo in murine genetic models.
