Research Interests
Research activities in my laboratory focus on the molecular mechanisms that drive stability and dynamic modulation of the actin cytoskeleton. The laboratory capitalizes on the combinatorial use of protein chemical, molecular biological, microscopic, and cell biological techniques. We study the induction of actin cytoskeleton rearrangement, focal adhesion disassembly, and the spatially and temporally restricted inhibition of contractile forces that lead to the Src-dependent formation of podosomes in vascular smooth muscle cells.
